Luxemburg, im Mai 2004Dear Relatives: Four years ago, at the last Wiehler reunion in Abbotsford, Canada, we decided that the next reunion could take place in 2005 at the Thomashof near Karlsruhe.
Organizational difficulties rendered this plan unfeasable. Instead we have found the Youth Hostel in Oberwesel most suitable for our purposes. The city of Oberwesel is in the valley of the Loreley (the
romantic section of the Rhine between Bingen and Koblenz). This modern youth hostel offers magnificent views and neighbors the middle-ages castle of Schoenburg. The entire facility, including various seminar
rooms, the music room, swimming pool and 200 beds, has been booked. There are two-bed and four-bed rooms available – please state your preferences clearly on the registration form enclosed. This
weekend promises optimal conditions for quality time spent among ourselves. Address: Jugendgästehaus Oberwesel am Rhein, Auf dem Schöneberg, 55430 Oberwesel, Germany
Tel: (06744) 93330; Fax: (06744) 7446; www.djh-info.de Arrival:
- by train: station at Oberwesel on the Mainz-Koblenz line; 15 min. by foot up to youth hostel; from Frankfurt-Airport to Oberwesel by train takes 80 min.
- by car: A61 Koblenz – Ludwigshafen, Exit: Laudert/Oberwesel; B9 Bingen-Koblenz, City Center Oberwesel (plenty of parking is available)
Hotels: those wishing to stay in local hotels should contact:

We suggest that the noon and evening meals be reserved at the hostel.Program: The extended family meets from 14:00 on Friday,
July 22 to 13:30 on Sunday, July 24, 2005 to become acquainted or re-acquainted with each other; old friendships and memories will be refreshed and new ones made. We are expecting 250 participants, with 120 from
Canada and USA.. The program is varied and includes interesting activities for young and old. Please bring your children so that some inter-generational continuity is maintained and the Wiehler identity is
nurtured leading to future gatherings of this sort. As you can see from the program, there will be conversation groups, games, musical presentations (please bring your musical instrument along), photo display
(please bring a photo of your family), short lectures, excursion along the Rhine, hiking, fireside, etc. Your registration ( form enclosed) should be returned by October 1, 2004. Why so soon? We need definite commitments in order to make plans and deposits on booked facilities. We are
sure you will understand.Trip to Poland (limited to 50 participants): Begins Sunday, July 24, 2005 (in conjunction with Wiehler-Tag). The return is scheduled for July 30, 2005 (please see
enclosed itinerary and registration form)
